On Tuesday evening, 4th April,2023, around 9pm, Emmanuel Salifu who is a taxi driver gave a lift to the 14 year old girl who is also a resident of Abesewa, from Compound, in a pretex of sending her to her house, but rather drove her to a nearby bush at Buabenso, threatened to kill her if she insist not to sleep with him in the bush, and subsequently, defiled her in his taxi .
Emmanuel Salifu was arrested and brought before Court with two charges causing fear and panic and defilement.
The presiding judge, His Lordship Acheampong today, 12 April,2023 handed a jail term of 14 years to the taxi driver who is a resident of Abesewa, a suburb of Dunkwa-Offin of the Upper Denkyira East Municipal Assembly.
The accused, Salifu Emmanuel pleaded guilty to the two accounts of charges; putting fear in the girl by threatened to kill her, and defilement.
