Emotional Shatta Wale paused his acceptance speech and began to shed tears on stage. Caught in his emotions, the Zylofon signed artiste said “Daddy wherever you are I want to dedicate this”. The “Amount” hitmaker won big on the night with eight awards. He picked up Fan Army of the Year, Reggae/ Dancehall Act of the Year, Digital Act of the Year, Reggae / Dancehall Song of the Year, Best Video, Viral song of the Year, Song of the Year and Man of the Year. The second edition of 3Music Awards came off on Saturday, March 30, at the Fantasy Dome, Trade Fair in Accra. This year Shatta Wale was the first act to perform after the brouhaha that occurred last year; his inability to perform due to limited time. Other artistes who got patrons thrilled included; Cina Soul, Tulenkey, Kofi Mole, Adina, Akwaboah, Dope Nation and La Meme Gang, Rocky Dawuni. Medikal didn’t also disappoint patrons as he performed his smash hit, Omo Ada, Risky, Gimme Vibe and Wrowroho.
The Bethel Revival Choir also won Gospel Song of the Year, Gospel Act of the Year and Group of the Year. Prof. Kofi Abraham was honoured with the Legendary Award, Highlife musician, Obuoba J.A.
