FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
BASELESS ALLEGATIONS OF INVOLVEMENT ILLEGAL MINING – RETRACT AND APOLOGIZE OR FACE LEGAL ACTION
My attention has been drawn to an allegation made on Aluta FM, 92.1 Megahertz, during an interview hosted by Agyaba Kwaku with Mr. Wendell Yeboah, Head of Mobilisation at Democracy Hub, on Tuesday, 18 November 2025. During the discussion, Mr. Yeboah claimed that I am involved in illegal mining activities.
I wish to state firmly that I have never engaged in any form of illegal mining. The allegation is false, unfounded, and intended to misinform the public. I urge the public to disregard this claim in its entirety.
My lawyers have commenced formal steps to require Mr. Yeboah and Aluta FM to provide evidence to support their accusation or take immediate action to retract the statement and issue an appropriate apology. Failure to comply will result in legal proceedings being initiated against them.
I reaffirm my strong commitment, to the national fight against illegal mining in Ashanti Region and Ghana and I will continue to discharge my duties with integrity, transparency, and unwavering dedication to the public good.
