Police in the Western Region have arrested five suspects in connection with the r0bbɛry and murder of a 40-year-old gold buyer, Seth Kobina, at Agona Fie near Agona Nkwanta.
The incident happened on August 20, 2026, when armed men reportedly attacked the victim’s gold-buying shop and shoot him in the chest. He was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
Police investigations and CCTV footage reportedly identified Emmanuel Amponsah, alias “Vandam,” as the alleged leader. He was arrested but later died after falling ill while in police custody.
Four other suspects have since been arrested. Police say firearms, ammunition and other items were recovered during the investigations.
Investigations are ongoing.
